Set up Vitrello
About 3 minutes. You'll use 3 things: this website, PowerShell (or Terminal on Mac), and the Claude desktop app.
Which computer are you on?
Before you start
You need: the Claude desktop app installed and signed in, and internet. Don't have the Claude app? Download it from claude.ai/download, then come back.
You don't need to know how to code.
Free capture lasts 24 hours and covers your first 3 sessions. After that Vitrello stops collecting until you upgrade — nothing already captured is deleted, and your explanations stay put.
- Open now:Browser (this page)
Click 'Get my install link'. You'll get a one-line command. It works for 1 hour and can be used up to 3 times.
Sign in to get your install linkClick Copy.
After setup
That's it. Keep working in Claude Code like normal; every Local session shows up here.
Pause anytime: /vitrello:pause. Turn back on: /vitrello:resume.
New computer? Come back here and get a new link.
Having trouble?
- The link says it expired. Links last 1 hour. Click 'Get a new link' and run the new command.
- Terminal shows red text and stops. Get a new link and run it again. If it happens again, take a screenshot and email us at neil.kossuri@vitrello.app.
- It says Node.js is required (Mac). Install the LTS version from nodejs.org, then get a new link and run it again.
- I don't see /vitrello commands in Claude. Fully quit Claude (step 4) and open it again.
- /vitrello:status says 'Key: MISSING'. Get a new link, run it, then fully restart Claude.
- Nothing shows up on this site. Make sure the session is Local, not Cloud, and that you sent at least one message. Then run /vitrello:status and check 'waiting to send' is 0.
- I use the terminal or VS Code instead of the desktop app. It works there too. Just restart Claude Code after installing.
